There were not an overwhelming number of attendees to the first Los Altos Gingerbread Party but the ones that came seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The children and the adults got a kick out of decorating and it was great to see neighbors being, well, neighborly. There was some confusion on the location, since Whaley straddles the south and north side of Atherton. Hiro on Fairbrook, who also gave me the tip on Katella Bakery for the cut-outs, spent a good bit of the day on the recreation building side before her daughter spied our tent in the distance. I am sure the event will catch on and the 2nd annual Los Altos Gingerbread Party will be an even bigger hit! This event was advertised in the neighborhood through the website www.nextdoor.com. I highly recommend you join your neighborhood group today - it is the perfect way to get more neighborly in today's world.
