Los Altos July 4th Promenade Fun

A Story by Michele Kreinheder | Updated 07/4/2014 12:29pm

Crowd Gathers for the July 4th Promenade
The crowd started to gather just before 9 this morning at the corner of Garford and Stearnlee. Simon and his family crew got the Mustang there by 9:15. In order to wait for those arriving late we sang just one verse of Yankee Doodle Dandy and The Star Spangle Banner.
NOTE TO SELF: Step up and lead the Sing-a-long next year. You enjoy it and your enthusiasm would carry over to the group.
Young Girls with Flags at the Promenade
We proceeded to follow Simon on his bubble making bike while his wife drove the car. We wound our way along the service road along Bellflower to Atherton. Thanks to all the volunteers who stood vigilant not allowing any child to wander into the busy road.
Simon took us on a wandering path and for those hearty participates who made it to the end there was an ice cream treat.
Family with a flag
I think everyone had a great time and we would like to grow the number of participates, so pass the word. This event is the perfect way to kick off Independence Day.
