Wilson High School's Female Leadership Academy 2017
I have been sponsoring Shred and E-waste Events to benefit area schools since 2009. These bi-annual events raise funds for the hosting school but last Saturday's event for Wilson High School's Female Leadership Academy was successful beyond expectations. By displaying stellar leadership and organization skills the group raised over $3,000 in donations!
Each person that came through the event was warmly greeted with a quick explanation of the Academy's purpose and the use of the donations. At the same time a small gift packet of either cookies or candy they assembled the week prior was given. They surely made it easy to make a donation! Next all electronic waste or batteries were off-loaded in the collection area. From there the girls gave directions to the two on-site shredding trucks where they helped empty over a ton paper into collection bins.
The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive. The girls make this event not only super easy for people attending but they make it super easy for me. My only job was to introduce myself!
Thank you to everyone who attended or got the word out there about the event. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously. Thanks Enrique and Jesse of Omni-Tech for E-waste collection. Thank you to the awesome Counselors who oversee The Leadership Academy, Erika Medina and Stephanie Bilvado. Thank you to guys from Southern California Shredding, Inc. Of course, thanks to the hardworking girls of the Academy. Thank you to the attendees for expressing your thankfulness.
Oh and a special thank you to the gal from Park Estates who told me, "I don't see why anyone would call anyone but you when they need to sell their house". I am not going to lie, it made my day! I love the fact that this event isn't just a win-win, it is a win-win-win!
