Los Altos 4th Annual Holiday “Lighting of the Letters” was fun for all
There was a little bit of Christmas magic in the air on Sunday afternoon. The rain downpours ended and the sun came out in time for our 3 o’clock set up.! DJ Phil Acosta was tad concerned by the wet weather but was able to provide outstanding holiday music. He started us off with Dance of the Mirliton’s from The Nutcracker (a personal favorite of mine). Bill and Karen Marshall decorated tables beautifully to hold potluck items. The food was probably light this year due to fear of rain but what was there was delicious. Noreena Trent of “Grow, Giggle, Learn” pre-school provided a craft table to make a take home souvenir Santa – just adorable! Two bounce houses were busy, busy , busy. Of course the star of the day, judging by the length of the line, was the most beautiful and patient Santa Claus ever (thank you Steve).
Thank you to Los Altos Councilperson for being on hand and Barbara Moore for once again delivering delicious hot cocoa. Also thanks Daryl for trivia questions and prizes of Chic-fil-A gift cards.
The Letters became illuminated just after dusk. We have to say they look great with new improved lighting! Take a walk or drive over one evening. We mean it when we say HAPPY NEW YEAR and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hope to see you all at next year’s Lighting of the Letters Event!
